About ICIP

The International Conference on Image Processing (ICIP), sponsored by the IEEE Signal Processing Society, is the premier forum for the presentation of technological advances and research results in the fields of theoretical, experimental, and applied image and video processing. ICIP 2015, the twenty second in the series that has been held annually since 1994, brings together leading engineers and scientists in image and video processing from around the world. Research frontiers in fields ranging from traditional image processing applications to evolving multimedia and video technologies are regularly advanced by results first reported in ICIP technical sessions.

Call for Tutorials

ICIP 2015 tutorials will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2015 in morning and afternoon sessions of about 3 hours each. Proposals must be submitted via email to tutorials@icip2015.org.

Required Proposal Information
Each submission must include the following information:
  • Title
  • Presenters: Names, affiliation, contact information (email and mailing address), and two-page resume for each presenter.
  • Description: A description of the tutorial topic, providing a sense of both the scope and depth of the tutorial, along with a tutorial outline.
  • Relevance: Address the importance and timeliness of the proposal, and its relevance to researchers and engineers.
  • Previous editions: If the tutorial was given before, describe when and where it was given, and if and how it will be modified for ICIP 2015. If possible, provide a link to slides of the previous tutorial presentation.
Evaluation Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated using the following criteria:
  • Timeliness of the proposal: Importance of the topic in 2015 and relevance to ICIP
  • Quality of the proposal: state-of-the art coverage of the topic, coherence, and experience of the speakers.
  • Spectrum of the proposal: Is the topic of interest to academia and/or industry, researchers and/or engineers? Is it likely to attract ICIP 2015 attendees?

Call for Special Sessions

The technical program includes Special Sessions to complement the program with new or emerging topics of particular interest to the community.

Required Proposal Information

Prospective organizers of Special Sessions should submit proposals via e-mail in a single PDF file to specialsessions@icip2015.org. Note that organizers should not contribute more than one paper. Please include the following information:

  • Title
  • Motivation, indicating the novelty of the topic and any possible interdisciplinary flavor
  • Short biography of the organizers
  • List of six (6) contributed papers, including titles, authors, contact information of the corresponding author, and a short abstract of each contribution).
Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on the timeliness of the topic and on the qualifications of the organizers and of the authors of the contributed papers as well.

Review Process

The papers in each accepted Special Session will undergo a review process similar to the other regular papers. It is the responsibility of the organizers to ensure that their Special Session papers meet ICIP quality standards. In case a paper submitted in a Special Session does not meet the expected quality, it will be rejected and an effort will be made to draw papers from the regular papers pool to fill in the gap. If too many papers for a given Special Session are not accepted and we are unable to find suitable substitutes from the regular review pool, the session may be canceled.
